On this guided tour of Baeza, we will walk through the historic centre and visit the Cathedral of the Nativity.
Baeza Guided Tour
The tour begins at Calle San Pablo, 8. We will explore this World Heritage Site and learn about historical monuments like the Tower of the Aliatares and visit Barbacana St, home to a 16th-century granary. Next, we will visit Constitution and Pópulo squares, where we’ll see historic civilian buildings, including the old Public Notaries and the Palace of Jabalquinto. We will enter the church of Santa Cruz to appreciate its heritage.
Our itinerary includes a tour of the old University of Baeza, where we will remember writer Antonio Machado, and the Cathedral of the Nativity. This church showcases the evolution of artistic styles from Gothic to Renaissance. We will also view the Guadalquivir Valley from the lookout point of the old city walls, highlighting the Cazorla and Mágina mountain ranges.
The tour concludes with an olive oil tasting, characteristic of the province of Jaén.
