Guided Exploration of Baeza

This journey begins at Pl. de los Leones, where we will step into the heart of a city steeped in history. As we stroll through its streets, discover the significance of various iconic structures, including the Tower of the Aliatares, a remnant of the ancient Andalusian fortifications. Our path will then lead us to the charming Barbacana St., where the architectural beauty of the city's 16th-century granary awaits our visit.

Continuing onward, we will arrive at the Constitution and Pópulo squares, home to various notable civic buildings such as the historic old Public Notaries. Close by, we will encounter the magnificent Palace of Jabalquinto and venture into the church of Santa Cruz, where we can appreciate its intricate historical heritage.

Our journey will also take us inside the old University of Baeza, honoring the celebrated writer Antonio Machado, as well as to the Cathedral of the Nativity of Our Lady. Within this medieval church, we will observe the transformation of artistic styles, spanning from Gothic to Renaissance. At the lookout point of the ancient city walls, sweeping views of the Guadalquivir Valley and the majestic Cazorla and Mágina mountain ranges will further enhance our experience.

We will conclude this enlightening tour with a delightful olive oil tasting, celebrating one of Jaén’s most renowned local products.
