Baeza Tourist Train
Our adventure commences at the Plaza de los Leones, a charming square located beyond the ancient city walls of Baeza. Here, you will find remarkable buildings such as the Carnicerías Públicas (historic butcher shops), the Clerkship, and the Civil High Court, alongside significant landmarks like the Villalar Arch, the Azacaya Gate, and the beautiful Los Leones Fountain. From this point, the train meanders through the town’s picturesque streets until it reaches the principal square, the Plaza de España.
As we draw closer to the ancient walls, situated near the clock tower and the Úbeda Gate, we will take in breathtaking views of the Guadalquivir Valley, a source of inspiration for renowned Spanish poet Antonio Machado.
Our route continues through enchanting medieval avenues, which have served as the backdrop for various films, leading us to the vital Plaza de Santa María, the city's monumental epicenter. Here, we'll admire the elegant Santa María Fountain, the San Felipe Neri Seminary, and the striking San Isidoro and Nuestra Señora de la Natividad Cathedral.
In the concluding section of our journey, we will view the impressive Jabalquinto Palace and the historic university from the 18th century. The scenic train ride will conclude as we return to the Plaza de los Leones after approximately 30 minutes.
