The province of Jaen is the home of olive oil and you can find all about it when you visit the Olive Museum in Baeza and the town's oil mill.
Description
At the specified time, we'll begin at the entrance of the Olive Culture Museum, where you'll have the opportunity to tour one of the finest olive tourism facilities in Andalusia, guided by an expert in Spanish.
During the tour, we'll learn about the industry, examining the 30+ varieties of olive trees in the Garden of Varieties, as well as the old pressing systems and equipment from the 19th century.
We'll then proceed to the olive oil cellar, dating back to 1848. Here, you will observe the central European influence on the building's architecture, which was made a Cultural Heritage Site in 2007.
Next, an expert Spanish-speaking guide will demonstrate how the oil mill functions, providing insight into the modern-day process of production and extraction of olive oil.
To conclude the tour, we'll take an introductory course in olive oil tasting in the old 19th-century factory. You'll learn to distinguish between different varieties of oil and assess its quality, as well as discover the various properties of olive oil.
After 1 hour and 45 minutes in total, this tour will come to an end.
