Salinas del Gualicho Trip

At the scheduled time, we will pick you up in Las Grutas before heading to Salinas del Gualicho: the second largest depression in Argentina.

Upon arrival at these salt deposits, we will observe their dimensions. Located 236 feet below sea level, the salt flats cover an area of 166 square miles. During the journey, we will learn about some of the 8000 uses of salt.

The tour includes a visit to the industrial area, where salt crystals are harvested and packed. We will view salt piles, which can accumulate up to 450,000 tons. After these visits, we will enjoy a sunset over the Salinas del Gualicho.

While watching the sunset, we will serve a Creole dinner outdoors. The menu includes chicken with vegetables, bread, wine, mineral water, coffee, and dessert. Later, we will observe the stars using telescopes and other astronomical instruments.

We will return to Las Grutas, arriving back at the original starting point between 10 pm and midnight, depending on the time of year.
