Learn about Cuban independence's most interesting historical facts with this Holguin Day Trip from Guardalavaca. Are you ready?

Description

We'll pick you up at your hotel in Guardalavaca at the scheduled time and set off for Holguin. The trip will take only one hour. Upon arrival, we'll start at the Mirador de Mayabe for views of the countryside, followed by a visit to the Orígenes Mural made with 20 tonnes of concrete. Next, we will visit the San Isidoro Cathedral to appreciate its colonial-style facade and Arab interior.

We'll then proceed to the Plaza Calixto García Íñiguez, inaugurated in 1720, to discuss events related to the Cuban War of Independence. The next stop is the La Periquera Museum, where visitors can learn about aboriginal remains and the history of the Holguineros. Following this, we'll view the church of San José, noted for serving as a defensive fort during Cuba's independence and being the oldest basilica in the city.

We will climb 458 steps to the Loma de la Cruz for a panoramic view of Holguín before returning to Guardalavaca, concluding the six-hour excursion.
