Come and enjoy the white snowy landscapes of Banff on this snowshoeing tour and discover Kootenay National Park or Marble Canyon in a fun way!
Snowshoe Trek in Banff
When making your reservation, you'll choose a snowshoeing tour in Banff. Both options include transport by bus or minibus, snowshoe and pole rental, and an English-speaking guide.
Here are the specifics of each option:
Trek through Paint Pots
At the time of your choice, we'll meet at the Mount Royal Hotel parking lot and head to the boundary of Kootenay National Park, about half an hour from the city. Once equipped, we'll embark on a 3-km (1.86-mile) snowshoe hike to see the historic Paint Pots and frozen lakes of Banff.
The Paint Pots are mineral deposits used by early settlers for painting rocks. A short break will feature hot chocolate and maple syrup candy. After a total of 4 hours of activity, we'll return to the starting point and head back to the hotels in Banff.
Trek through Marble Canyon
At the selected time, we'll meet at the Mount Royal Hotel parking lot and then set out to Kootenay National Park for a snowshoeing tour in Marble Canyon. This limestone gorge, measuring 40 meters (131 feet), has been shaped by the waters of Tokumn Creek.
During the hike, we will share facts about the environment and look for tracks of hares, moose, or wolves. After the hike, enjoy hot maple syrup poured onto the snow to create frozen candy. After 4 hours of activity, we'll conclude back at the meeting point in Banff.
