Come and enjoy the white snowy landscapes of Banff on this snowshoeing tour and discover Kootenay National Park or Marble Canyon.
Snowshoe Trek in Banff
You can choose between two snowshoeing tours in Banff, both including transport by bus or minibus, snowshoe and pole rental, and an English-speaking guide.
Trek through Paint Pots
We’ll meet at the Mount Royal Hotel parking lot and head to Kootenay National Park, half an hour from the city. This 3-km (1.86-mile) snowshoe hike will take you through the historic Paint Pots and frozen lakes of Banff.
The Paint Pots are mineral deposits used by early settlers for painting rocks. A break will be taken to enjoy a hot chocolate and maple syrup candy.
The activity lasts 4 hours, after which we will return to the meeting point.
Trek through Marble Canyon
We’ll meet at the Mount Royal Hotel parking lot and then head to Kootenay National Park for a snowshoeing tour in Marble Canyon.
This area features a 40-meter (131-foot) limestone gorge shaped by Tokumn Creek waters. While hiking, we will share facts about the area and possibly see tracks of hares, moose, or wolves.
After the hike, we will enjoy hot maple syrup poured into snow to create a sweet frozen candy.
The total duration is 4 hours, concluding at the meeting point in Banff.
