Immerse yourself in Thailand's rich cultural, historical and architectural heritage on this day trip to the ancient capital city: Ayutthaya.
Description
Between 7:30 am and 8 am, we'll meet at National Stadium BTS Station. Then we'll travel to the Bang Pa-In Royal Palace, arriving at 10 am. This former royal residence showcases remarkable architecture and riverside scenery.
Next, we will visit the ruins of Ayutthaya, founded in 1350 as the second capital of the Siamese Kingdom. The city was destroyed by the Burmese army in 1767, leaving behind ancient structures that serve as a gateway to the past, including notable features such as tree roots around Buddha heads.
After exploring, we'll have lunch at a local restaurant. The tour includes visits to ancient religious sites like Wat Mahathat, with its famous Buddha head among tree roots; Wat Mongkol Borpit, known for its large seated Buddha; and Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, the holy site of the ancient capital.
Finally, we will explore Wat Chaiwatthanaram, recognized for its Thai Buddhist chedis, a key factor in Ayutthaya's UNESCO status in 1991, before returning to Bangkok.
