Venture deep into the heart of the Ecuadorian rainforest on our day trip to the Hola Vida Reserve. You'll be enchanted by the landscapes, fauna, and flora found in this part of Ecuador.
Hola Vida Reserve Day Trip
At 9 am, we'll meet on Óscar Efrén Reyes Street in Baños de Agua Santa. We'll hop aboard our comfortable vehicle and set off on the 2-hour drive to the Hola Vida Reserve.
Before we get there, we'll stop at the Animal and Bird Rescue Centre. This place is home to numerous rescued monkeys, birds, and reptiles. We'll then drive to the Hola Vida Reserve and enter the Ecuadorian rainforest.
Upon arrival, we will observe a variety of medicinal and hallucinogenic plants as well as insects such as butterflies, beetles, spiders, giant ants, and termites. We will also travel along part of the river in some typical small boats.
Next, we'll visit the Puyango community for lunch, which consists of chicken with rice, salad, and vegetable stew.
After lunch, we'll hike to the Hola Vida Waterfall, located in the rainforest. During the hike, you might see woodpeckers, hyla frogs, and snakes such as chontas and common lanceheads. At the waterfall, you can take a dip in its crystal-clear water.
After a full day of exploration, we'll return to Baños de Agua Santa by 9 pm.
