Hola Vida Reserve Day Trip
At 9 am, we'll meet on Óscar Efrén Reyes Street in Baños de Agua Santa. We'll board our vehicle and set off on the 2-hour drive to the Hola Vida Reserve.
Before arriving, we'll stop at the Animal and Bird Rescue Centre, which houses numerous rescued monkeys, birds, and reptiles. We will then proceed to the Hola Vida Reserve and enter the Ecuadorian rainforest.
Upon arrival, we will observe the variety of medicinal and hallucinogenic plants and different insects including butterflies, beetles, spiders, giant ants, and termites. We will also travel along part of the river in some typical small boats.
Next, we will visit the Puyango community for a lunch of chicken with rice, salad, and vegetable stew.
After lunch, we will hike to the Hola Vida Waterfall, located in the rainforest. On the hike, you may encounter woodpeckers, hyla frogs, and snakes such as chontas and common lanceheads. At the waterfall, you will have the opportunity to take a dip in its crystal-clear water.
After a day exploring the rainforest, we will return to Baños de Agua Santa by 9 pm.
