Hola Vida Reserve Day Trip
Our adventure begins at 9 am on Óscar Efrén Reyes Street in Baños de Agua Santa, where we'll gather before boarding a comfortable vehicle. From there, a 2-hour journey will take us towards the enchanting Hola Vida Reserve.
On our way, we will make a noteworthy stop at the Animal and Bird Rescue Centre, where numerous rescued monkeys, birds, and reptiles reside. Following this visit, we'll continue our drive to the Hola Vida Reserve, ready to explore the Ecuadorian rainforest.
Upon arrival, we'll encounter an array of medicinal and hallucinogenic plants, alongside fascinating insects such as butterflies, beetles, and spiders, including giant ants and termites. A highlight of our visit will be navigating a portion of the river in authentic small boats.
Next, we'll venture to the Puyango community to enjoy a traditional lunch featuring chicken, rice, a fresh salad, and vegetable stew.
After lunch, a hike will lead us to the stunning Hola Vida Waterfall, hidden within the rainforest. As we traverse the trail, keep an eye out for woodpeckers, hyla frogs, and snakes, including chontas and common lanceheads. Once we reach the waterfall, take the chance to cool off in its pristine waters.
After a day filled with exploration and unforgettable moments in the rainforest, we'll return to Baños de Agua Santa by 9 pm.
