Our tour begins at Burgalimar Castle, a fortress of Umayyad origin located in Baños de la Encina, Jaén. The guided tour of Baños de la Encina Castle lasts approximately 45 minutes and includes access to the castle's interior, where we will observe its solid walled enclosure and learn about its historical significance during the Middle Ages, when control of this area was contested between Muslims and Christians.

Notably, the Battle of Navas de Tolosa occurred nearby in 1212, marking a critical confrontation between these two factions. The tour also includes a visit to the Torre del Homenaje, an additional watchtower constructed after the Christian reconquest.

Timetable

Reservations can be made for guided tours in the morning or afternoon. The afternoon tour offers the opportunity to enjoy the sunset over the surrounding olive groves.
