Tour of Baños de la Encina

At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Tourist Office on José Luis Messía Avenue to start our guided tour of Baños de la Encina.

Our first stop will be the Muslim castle of Bury Al-Hamma (Burgalimar in Spanish) from the Caliphate period (10th century). A glance at its imposing façade confirms that it is one of the best-preserved castles in Europe, uniquely constructed using tabiyya (dry mud). We will tour its towers and admire views of the village from inside.

During the excursion, we will visit the church of San Mateo and the hermitage of Cristo del Llano, known for its decorative features and examples of Andalusian rococo baroque. Mirrors embedded in the walls reflect the sculptures, contributing to a solemn atmosphere.

Our trip will continue with a walk through the historic centre of Baños de la Encina, where we will observe stately houses and other well-preserved ancient structures.

Finally, after 2 hours of touring, we'll conclude the tour.
