Tour of Baños de la Encina
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Tourist Office on José Luis Messía Avenue to start our guided tour of Baños de la Encina.
Our first stop will be the Muslim castle of Bury Al-Hamma (Burgalimar in Spanish) from the Caliphate period (10th century). This castle is known for being one of the best-preserved in Europe and the only one made of tabiyya (dry mud). We'll walk around its towers and enjoy views of the village.
During the excursion, we'll visit the church of San Mateo and the hermitage of Cristo del Llano, noted for its striking figures and decorations considered exemplary of Andalusian rococo baroque. Mirrors embedded in the walls enhance the spiritual atmosphere.
We will then stroll through the historic centre of Baños de la Encina, admiring stately houses and other well-preserved historical sites.
After 2 hours of touring, we'll conclude the tour.
