Discover the landscapes of the Yumurí River on our trip from Baracoa, passing through a canyon and visiting Punta de Maisí, traveling through fields of taro, coffee, and sweet potatoes.
Day Trip Details
We will pick you up from your hotel in Baracoa at the designated time to explore the protected natural area surrounding the Yumurí River in an off-roading vehicle.
During the journey, we will traverse the tropical forest and lush vegetation, passing fields of coffee, taro, sweet potatoes, and yams while sharing insights about local life and soil conservation.
Upon reaching Yumurí, we will embark on a boat trip to view the canyon walls, which rise up to 200 meters (656 feet) on either side of the river. We will navigate the river's navigable section of 300 meters (984 feet) and you can take a dip in one of the natural pools formed along the river.
Next, we will proceed to Punta de Maisí, the easternmost point in Cuba, where we will see the iconic lighthouse known as "La Concha." On clear days, you may see Haiti from its highest point.
After the tour, we will have a typical Cuban lunch at the hotel Faro de Maisí.
After a total of 8 hours, we will return to your hotel in Baracoa.
