Discover the landscapes of the Yumurí River on a tour from Baracoa, featuring a canyon visit and travel through agricultural fields.

Day Trip Details

We will pick you up from your hotel in Baracoa at the designated time to explore the protected natural area around the Yumurí River in an off-roading vehicle.

During the journey, you will experience the tropical forest and observe the vegetation as we pass coffee, taro, sweet potato, and yam fields. Information about local life and soil conservation practices will be shared throughout the trip.

Upon reaching Yumurí, a boat trip will provide views of the canyon walls, which rise to 200 metres (656 feet) on each side of the river, leading to the Atlantic Ocean. Learn about the origins of the river's name during this excursion.

We will navigate the river’s only accessible section, measuring 300 metres (984 feet) long. You will also have the opportunity to swim in one of the natural pools along the river.

Next, we will head to Punta de Maisí, the easternmost point in Cuba, where you can view the local lighthouse, known as "La Concha." On clear days, it is possible to see Haiti from the highest point.

A typical Cuban lunch will be served at the hotel Faro de Maisí. After 8 hours, we will conclude the tour with drop-off at your hotel in Baracoa.
