Alberobello + Matera Self Guided Tour

Alberobello in Apulia and Matera in Basilicata are two picturesque towns in southern Italy. You'll discover all their charm on this self-guided tour of the southern part of the country.

Tour Details

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at Piazza Eroi del Mare, 98 ft (30 m) from Bari's Chamber of Commerce and start touring the south of Italy by minibus.

First, we'll drive through the landscapes of Apulia. An hour later, we'll arrive in Alberobello, where you'll have 3 hours of free time to visit its iconic trulli, which were declared a World Heritage Site in 1996.

The main attractions include the Siamesi and Sovrano trulli, as well as the neighborhoods of Rione Aia Piccola and Rione dei Monti. Additional recommended sites are the church of San Antonio di Padua and the Basilica of San Cosimo and San Damiano.

After your free time, we'll regroup in the town center to head for Basilicata. At 1:30 pm, we'll arrive in Matera, recognized as the European Capital of Culture in 2019.

You’ll have another 4 hours of free time for lunch and exploring the Sassi of Matera, historic cave houses. Notably, some scenes from the 007 film No Time to Die were filmed here.

We will return to the meeting point, arriving 10–11 hours after pickup.
