Alberobello in Apulia and Matera in Basilicata are two towns in southern Italy. This self-guided tour allows you to explore their charm.
Description
At the scheduled time, pickup will be at Bari's Chamber of Commerce, followed by a bus tour through Apulia. After an hour, we will arrive in Alberobello, where you will have 3 hours of free time to explore the iconictrulli, recognized as a World Heritage Site since 1996.
Key attractions include the Siamesi and Sovrano trulli, along with the neighborhoods of Rione Aia Piccola and Rione dei Monti. Other notable sites are the church of San Antonio di Padua and the Basilica of San Cosimo and San Damiano.
After spending free time in Alberobello, we will reconvene to travel to Basilicata. By 1:30 pm, we will reach Matera, named the European Capital of Culture in 2019. You will have 4 hours free for lunch and to explore the historic Sassi of Matera, famous for its cave houses.
We will then return to the meeting point, completing the tour approximately 10-11 hours after the initial pickup.
