Experience awe-inspiring landscapes and rich history as we embark on a hiking adventure along the Camino Real toward the town of Guane. This route traces paths once used by indigenous communities and Spanish settlers.
Description
We'll meet at the selected time at Barichara's main park and proceed to the entrance of Móncora Biopark, where our Camino Real hiking journey begins.
This historic trail features an 8-kilometer (5-mile) downhill path leading to the town of Guane. Along the way, native trees line the Camino Real de Tobares, which was vital for connecting indigenous communities and later used by Spanish colonists for trade.
After the initial leg, we'll visit a pottery workshop to learn about ancestral techniques linked to the Guane people. Following this visit, we will continue along the trail, enjoying mountain views.
After a 4.5-hour trek, our journey concludes in Guane's main park, where we will take a tuk-tuk back to Barichara.
