Experience awe-inspiring landscapes and rich history as we embark on a hiking adventure along the Camino Real toward the town of Guane. This route traces paths once used by indigenous communities and Spanish settlers.
Description
We'll meet at the selected time at Barichara's main park, and from there, head to the entrance of Móncora Biopark to begin our Camino Real hiking journey.
This journey involves an 8-kilometer (5-mile) downhill path leading to the historic town of Guane, where you can appreciate native trees along the Camino Real de Tobares. The trail serves as an important historical route connecting indigenous communities and Spanish colonists.
During the hike, we will visit a pottery workshop to learn about ancestral techniques linked to the Guane people. Following this, the trek continues with breathtaking mountain views.
After a 4.5-hour trek, we will conclude our adventure in Guane's main park, where we will take a tuk-tuk back to Barichara.
Tour option without return transportation
If you wish to stay longer in Guane or return to Barichara independently, you can opt for the tour without return transportation. Our guide will provide information on public transportation options.
