Experience landscapes and history on a hiking adventure along the Camino Real toward Guane. This route follows paths used by indigenous communities and Spanish settlers.
Description
We'll meet at the selected time at Barichara's main park and proceed to the entrance of Móncora Biopark to start our Camino Real hiking journey.
The hike involves an 8-kilometer (5-mile) downhill path to the town of Guane. Participants will see native trees along the Camino Real de Tobares, which was important for indigenous communities and later for Spanish colonists as part of their trade routes.
After the initial hike, we'll visit a pottery workshop to learn about an ancestral technique of the Guane people. Continuing along the Camino Real, you'll enjoy mountain views.
Concluding with a 4.5-hour trek, we'll end the adventure in Guane's main park. From there, we'll take a tuk-tuk back to Barichara.
Tour option without return transportation
For those wishing to stay longer in Guane or return to Barichara independently, a tour option without return transportation is available. The guide will provide information on public transportation options.
