Discover the natural beauty of Patagonia with this trip to Tronador (Thundering) Volcano, named for the sound created by glacier ice breaks.
Description
The tour departs from Bariloche, traveling south alongside the Gutierrez and Mascardi lakes. Enjoy the landscape of La Pampa, characterized by its lakes, rivers, and the Andes mountains.
We continue along the eastern coast of Mascardi Lake until reaching a road diversion that takes us into the Andes. We will cross a bridge over the Manso River and follow its rapids, alongside the eastern branch of Mascardi Lake. A stop will be made at the Piuke island viewpoint for views of its heart-shaped form.
The tour proceeds through the Los Vuriloches Valley to Pampa Linda, a refuge in the mountains where you will have free time to eat. After lunch, we will go to the foot of the Tronador Volcano to view the Ventisquero Negro glacier or Lago Manso. Observe the remarkable ice floes falling from the volcano.
After visiting the waterfalls nearby, we will return to Bariloche, with a duration of approximately 9 hours.
