The mouth of the Magdalena River in the Caribbean is a key destination in Barranquilla. Experience it on our Bocas de Ceniza Day Trip from this Colombian city.
Bocas de Ceniza Day Trip
At 9 am, hotel pickup in Barranquilla will begin, and we will head north. After a 30-minute journey, we will arrive at the mouth of the Magdalena River (Rio Grande de la Magdalena).
Upon arrival, we will board a tourist train for a 7.5-mile (12-kilometre) ride showcasing the landscapes of Bocas de Ceniza, where the river joins the Caribbean Sea.
Following the train ride, we will walk to the specific point where the mouth of the river can be viewed. Here, we will observe the meeting of sea and river waters, noted for its unique color blend.
Additionally, we will identify the significant infrastructure established in 1936 to manage the waters of the longest riverbed in Colombia, a remarkable engineering accomplishment.
The return to Barranquilla will commence, and you will be dropped off at your hotel by around 1 pm.
