Bocas de Ceniza Day Trip
At 9 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Barranquilla and head north. After 30 minutes, we'll arrive at the mouth of the Magdalena River (Rio Grande de la Magdalena).
Here, we will board a tourist train for a 7.5-mile (12-kilometre) ride through the landscapes of Bocas de Ceniza, known for the meeting point of the river and the Caribbean Sea.
Following the train ride, we will walk to view the exact point where the mouth of the river is. This allows us to see how the waters from the sea and the river meet, creating a unique mix of colors.
We will also observe the significant infrastructure constructed in 1936 to channel the waters of the longest riverbed in Colombia, noted as one of the largest engineering feats in the country.
Afterward, we will return to Barranquilla by bus and drop you off at your hotel around 1 pm.
