Cartagena de Indias Day Trip
Pickup from your hotel in Barranquilla is at 6 am, followed by a minibus journey to Cartagena de Indias, the capital of the department of Bolivar, lasting just under 2 hours. Breakfast will be provided, including fruit, a sandwich, and juice.
Upon arrival in Cartagena, experience its colourful monuments and vibrant lifestyle. We'll visit the neighbourhoods of Bocagrande, Laguito, and Castillo Grande, and discuss the differences between the inner and outer bay of Cartagena. After a visit to the Convent of La Popa, lunch will be served at the restaurant La Mulata.
Next, we will explore the Fort of San Felipe de Barajas, learning about the history of this defensive fortress. Participants will have free time to admire the vaults and browse local crafts and jewellery stalls.
To conclude the day, we will visit the Gold Museum and Bolivar Square, key symbols of Cartagena de Indias. The return to Barranquilla hotels is scheduled for 5 pm.
