Ciénaga Excursion

At 6 am, pick-up will be at your hotel in Barranquilla to board the minibus to Ciénaga, located 70 kilometers from Barranquilla in the department of Magdalena. This town inspired Gabriel García Márquez to write 100 Years of Solitude.

While walking through the historic streets of Ciénaga, we will discuss the town's origins, which thrived in the early 20th century due to the banana industry. The tour will include visits to Plaza del Centenario Park, the Templete, the Church of San Juan Bautista, and other significant monuments.

Next, we will travel to the Cordobita region to visit the Ciénaga volcano, known for its thermal waters with medicinal properties. Participants will enjoy a beneficial bath and a mud massage.

We will conclude the day by returning to the minibus for the journey back to Barranquilla, arriving around 3 pm.
