Ciénaga Excursion

At 6 am, we will pick you up at your hotel in Barranquilla and board the minibus for Ciénaga, a municipality in the department of Magdalena, located 70 kilometers from Barranquilla. This town inspired Gabriel García Márquez to write 100 Years of Solitude.

During the walk through the historic streets of Ciénaga, we will discuss the origins of the town, which prospered in the early 20th century due to the banana industry. The tour includes visits to Plaza del Centenario Park, the Templete, the Church of San Juan Bautista, and other significant monuments.

Next, we will visit the Cordobita region to explore the Ciénaga volcano, known for its thermal waters that have medicinal properties. This includes a beneficial bath and a mud massage.

We will conclude the excursion and start the return journey to Barranquilla, arriving at 3 pm.
