Ciénaga Excursion
At 6 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Barranquilla and board the minibus for Ciénaga, a Colombian municipality in the department of Magdalena. This town, located 70 kilometers from Barranquilla, inspired Gabriel García Márquez to write 100 Years of Solitude.
During our walk through the historic streets of Ciénaga, we'll discuss the town's origins and its economic boom in the early 20th century due to the banana industry. The tour includes visits to Plaza del Centenario Park, the Templete, the Church of San Juan Bautista, and other significant monuments from that era.
Afterwards, we will travel to the Cordobita region to visit the Ciénaga volcano and experience its medicinal thermal waters with a bath and a mud massage.
We will then return to the minibus and begin our journey back to Barranquilla, arriving at approximately 3 pm.
