Day Trip to Ciénaga Grande de Santa Marta
Our adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel in Barranquilla at 5:30 am as we head towards the western region of the Ciénaga Grande de Santa Marta.
As we explore this stunning area surrounding the municipality of Ciénaga, we will visit the mouth of the Sevilla River, where you can observe the exotic birds that populate the Magdalena region. Interestingly, this place is home to the largest colony of cormorants in Colombia.
In addition to these magnificent cormorants, keep an eye out for the rare Northern screamer, an endangered species crucial for the health of the ecosystem within the Ciénaga Grande de Santa Marta. While taking in the richness of local fauna, you'll also appreciate the striking mangrove landscapes and the unspoiled beauty of the river estuary.
Following a delicious traditional meal, we will make our way back to Barranquilla, aiming to have you back at your hotel by 3:30 pm.
