Day Trip to Ciénaga Grande de Santa Marta
Your adventure begins with a pick-up at your hotel in Barranquilla at 5:30 am, from where we will journey towards the western region of the Ciénaga Grande de Santa Marta.
As we explore this stunning area enveloping the municipality of Ciénaga, we will visit the mouth of the Sevilla River, renowned for its population of exotic birds native to the Magdalena region. Remarkably, this location hosts the largest congregation of cormorants in the country.
You may also catch a glimpse of the elusive Northern screamer, a critically endangered species that plays a crucial role in sustaining the ecosystem of the Ciénaga Grande de Santa Marta. While enjoying the fascinating wildlife, you'll also be invited to appreciate the distinctive mangrove landscape as well as the breathtaking views of the river estuary.
Following a delicious traditional meal, we will begin our journey back to Barranquilla, arriving at your hotel around 3:30 pm.
