Day Trip Details
Pickup will be from your hotel in Barranquilla at the specified time, followed by a 2-hour minibus journey to Santa Marta, one of the oldest cities in America. A breakfast served on board will include a sandwich and juice.
Upon arrival, the first visit will be to the Quinta de San Pedro Alejandrino, where Simón Bolívar spent his final days, providing insight into this significant historical figure. Next, we’ll proceed to the Taganga viewpoint to take in views of Samaria Bay and surrounding mountains.
A tour of the old town will follow, featuring the Cathedral Basilica of Santa Marta, the oldest Cathedral in South America. Another stop will be at the Tairona Gold Museum in the Casa de la Aduana to explore the region's indigenous and colonial heritage.
At lunchtime, a local restaurant will serve traditional Colombian dishes. Post-lunch, the Rodadero area will be explored, followed by a visit to the tranquil beaches of Bello Horizonte, where you’ll have 2 hours to relax and enjoy the Caribbean Sea.
Finally, the group will return to the minibus for the trip back to your hotel in Barranquilla, arriving approximately 12 hours later.
