Activity Details
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Barranquilla and travel east by minibus to Santa Marta, about a 2-hour journey. A breakfast served on board includes a sandwich and juice. Upon arrival in Santa Marta, we will visit the Quinta de San Pedro Alejandrino, the site where Simón Bolívar spent his last days, and learn about his significance.
Next, we proceed to the Taganga viewpoint for views of Samaria Bay and the surrounding mountains. Following this, we will tour the old town, visiting the Cathedral Basilica of Santa Marta, the oldest Cathedral in South America, and the Tairona Gold Museum at Casa de la Aduana to explore the area's indigenous and colonial heritage.
At midday, we will enjoy a traditional lunch at a local restaurant. Post-lunch, we will explore the Rodadero area and its historical context. To conclude the activity, you'll have 2 hours of free time at the Bello Horizonte beaches to relax by the Caribbean Sea.
Finally, we will return to Barranquilla, arriving at your hotel after approximately 12 hours.
