Hongos de Tocota Private Trip

At 10 am, we will depart from your hotel in Barreal and travel by jeep to the surroundings of the Tocota River, nestled between the foothills of the Sierra del Tontal and the Andes.

In this corner of the Argentine province of San Juan, we will visit the Hongos de Tocota (Tocota Mushrooms) rock formations. These sandstone rocks, carved by erosion, resemble giant mushrooms and most are between 30 and 50 feet tall.

During the route through the Barreal-Rodeo depression, we will see different forms of these magical rock mushrooms. While taking photos with them, you will learn about the natural process that shaped these structures over time.

We will take a break for a country lunch that includes several regional specialties. Afterward, we will return to Barreal, with a stop for a light snack in the open air, enjoying more Andean landscapes of San Juan.

We will arrive back at your hotel at 7 pm.
