Our adventure begins at 10 am as we leave your hotel in Barreal and embark on a jeep ride towards the area surrounding the Tocota River, situated between the mighty Andes and the Sierra del Tontal.

In this picturesque zone of San Juan province, we will explore a remarkable site: the rock formations known as Hongos de Tocota (Tocota Mushrooms). These impressive sandstone structures, sculpted by the forces of erosion, resemble giant mushrooms, with many soaring between 30 and 50 feet in height!

As we traverse the Barreal-Rodeo depression, you will encounter various shapes of these enchanting rock mushrooms. Standing close to these towering giants, you will feel a sense of awe at their size. Capture the moment with a selfie while learning about the natural phenomena that led to the formation of these astonishing structures.

Afterward, we will pause to enjoy a delightful country lunch featuring a variety of regional dishes. Once we are rejuvenated, we will commence our return to Barreal. On our way back, we will make a stop for a light snack in the beautiful outdoors, allowing you to relish more breathtaking Andean landscapes of San Juan.
