Discover the amazing cave paintings of the Los Morrillos reserve with this fantastic private trip from Barreal. You'll learn about the fascinating ancestral secrets of the ancient local culture!

Los Morillos Reserve Private Trip

At 10 am, we will depart from your hotel in Barreal in a comfortable off-road vehicle and stop in an Andean area at the foot of the Ansilta Mountain Range.

Located there, at an altitude of more than 10,000 feet, is the Los Morrillos reserve, where we will learn about local nature and the predominant plants. The staff of the reserve, managed by Fundación Vida Silvestre Argentina, will address these questions and more.

We will then undertake a 45-minute trek to the prehistoric caves of Los Morrillos, home to famous cave paintings that are 8500 years old, depicting the sun, animals, and abstract figures, generating various interpretations and theories.

After visiting the caves, we will return on foot to the starting point for a picnic featuring a typical Argentinean picada. We will continue exploring other parts of the Andes before heading back to Barreal.

On the return, we will stop for a snack before dropping you off at your hotel at 6 pm.
