Caatinga Paraíba 2-Day Hiking Tour

Join us for a 2-day trip through the Caatinga in Paraíba to explore Brazil's unique biome. Enjoy hiking in stunning landscapes, observing native flora and fauna, and camping under a starry sky.

Tour Details

Day 1

We’ll pick you up from your hotel in João Pessoa to begin our journey through the Caatinga, a biome exclusive to Brazil. After a 112-mile (180-kilometer) drive, we'll visit the Archeological Complex of Pedra do Altar in Barra de Santana and prepare for a 0.9-mile (1.5-kilometer) hike to the Paraíba River.

On this hike, we will explore archeological sites linked to the Tapuia indigenous people, alongside calderas, natural pools, and waterfalls. After lunch at the complex’s restaurant, we’ll proceed to Lajedo do Marinho for remarkable views at sunset. We will then camp overnight, sleeping in tents and enjoying a bonfire under the stars.

Day 2

The second day begins with breakfast followed by a 3.1-mile (5-kilometer) hike along the Trilha de Antonio Conselheiro. This trail features rock formations and landmarks such as Lajedo dos Esquecidos and Trono de Deus.

After the hike, we will have lunch, pack up camp, and return to João Pessoa, arriving at your hotel around 6:30 p.m.

Accommodation Info

This tour includes an overnight stay at a campsite with tents, mattresses, and bedding. The campsite features bathrooms, electricity, internet, refrigerators, and hammocks for your comfort.
