Lucena & Bonsucesso Cliffs Expedition

At 7 am, your adventure begins with a pick-up from your hotel in João Pessoa as we embark on a scenic drive along the breathtaking Paraíba coastline toward Lucena.

Upon arrival in Lucena, we will first stop to appreciate the remarkable watchtower of Forte Velho, followed by a visit to the Nossa Senhora da Guia church, a striking 16th-century basilica that showcases the unique beauty of tropical baroque architecture—don’t miss the delightful fruit motifs adorning its façade!

Next, our journey takes us to Coqueiral, a picturesque area teeming with coconut trees alongside the Atlantic Ocean. Here, a short walk will lead us to the ruins of the church of Bonsucesso, associated with the Carmelite Order. The structure harmonizes beautifully with nature, where limestone and sandstone walls intertwine with a majestic gameleira tree.

Continuing our route, we’ll reach the stunning viewpoint of the Bonsucesso cliffs, offering breathtaking panoramic vistas over Lucena and the delta of the Camacari River.

Our next stop is the inviting beach of Pontinha, where you can unwind and enjoy some leisure time for swimming or lunch. After rejuvenating, stroll along a stretch of the inlet towards the Miriri River—a perfect spot for taking a dip if you wish!

As we wrap up the experience, we’ll visit local artisans crafting unique items from coconut fibers and sampling delectable coconut sweets. You will gain insights into the local culture and traditions throughout this engagement.

We will conclude our day by making our way back to João Pessoa, arriving at your hotel around 5:30 pm.
