French Basque Country: Bayonne Food Tour
Meet us at the central Place de la Liberté at the indicated time to start our food tour through the city of Bayonne.
We will begin with a brief introduction before strolling through Bayonne, known for its traditional gastronomy. Our first stop will be the Les Halles Market to sample various fish and seafood products paired with a glass of wine, passing by the impressive St. Mary Cathedral along the way.
Next, we will visit the oldest trinquets (Basque ball courts) in France, which includes a restaurant where we will taste a selection of local tapas and cured meats along with a glass of wine.
Afterward, we will explore a traditional Basque cider house to sample goat's cheese with quince jam and taste Sagarnoa, a traditional Basque cider poured directly from the barrel.
Finally, we will visit one of Bayonne's best bakeries for a traditional Basque cake and finish the tour with a freshly roasted espresso that complements the cake. This will conclude our 3.5-hour food tour through Bayonne.
