French archaeologist Théodore Reinach was a lover of Greek culture. His travels to Greece and excavation projects increased his interest in ancient art and architecture. At the end of his career, he commissioned Villa Kerylos in Beaulieu-sur-Mer to honor Classical Greece. This spectacular villa emulates ancient Greek residences with features like a porter's lodge, a central patio and portico, a 'triklinion' dining room, and a library.
Villa Kerylos also houses a gallery of antiques with life-size sculptures of classic works of Greek art, such as Apollo Belvedere and the Venus de Milo. Additionally, you can visit the Andron, reserved for men, the family gathering area known as Oikos, and Reinach's bedroom, influenced by Erotes.
