Tour Details

Welcome to the capital of China! At the designated time, we'll meet at Exit D of the Hugangquaio Metro Station for this free walking tour to the most important spots in Beijing.

Throughout our tour, we'll reveal how the city evolved from an old walled capital to the country's political centre and a major cultural landmark.

We will first visit one of the oldest theatres in the city to discuss the Beijing Opera, recognized as an intangible cultural heritage.

Next, we'll explore the famous hutongs, discovering the Mongol legacy in the city and visiting an important cultural patio.

Afterward, at the Hutong Market, you'll have free time to try local delicacies before we continue to Yangmei Old Street to visit its artisanal shops and learn about Beijing's urban layout.

We'll walk down Dashilar Street and discuss the history of Chinese merchants, then proceed to the narrowest hutong before reaching Qianmen Street.

We will then visit Beijing's Central Axis, a World Heritage Site, connecting major monuments such as the palace and imperial gardens. Lastly, we'll visit the Zhengyangmen Gate's Archery Tower near Tiananmen Square, concluding this tour after 3.5 hours.
