Beijing & Shanghai Tour Package: 7 Days
Day 1: Beijing
Upon arrival at Beijing airport, a representative will be waiting to take you to your hotel, where you’ll be accommodated for the next three nights. After checking in, you’ll have the rest of the day free to settle in.
Day 2: Beijing
After breakfast at the hotel, you'll explore some of the most symbolic locations around the Chinese capital. Our first stop will be Tiananmen Square, the biggest square in the world, used for important political events. From this iconic site, you will see other characteristic landmarks, including the Forbidden City, which was home to Chinese emperors up to 1911.
You will have around an hour and a half to eat lunch at a traditional local restaurant. Next, we’ll explore the famous Hutong streets of Beijing's old town before visiting Jingshan Park, where you’ll have a chance to experience a Chinese Tea House.
The day will conclude at 5:30 pm, when you’ll return to the hotel to prepare for your evening meal and discover Beijing's nightlife.
Day 3: The Great Wall of China - Beijing
The day will start with a pick-up from your hotel at 8:00 am, heading to one of China’s historic sites, the Great Wall of China. You'll visit the famous Mutianyu area via cable car, granting you an aerial view of one of the Seven Modern Wonders of the World.
At 12:30 pm, lunch will be served at a local restaurant before heading back to Beijing. Along the way, stops will be made at the National Stadium (Bird's Nest) and the National Aquatics Centre (Water Cube), both built for the 2008 Olympic Games. You will also visit the Pearl Museum. The tour will end at 5:30 pm.
Day 4: Beijing - Shanghai
After breakfast, you will proceed to the Beijing train station to board a high-speed train to Shanghai, with a travel time of approximately five and a half hours. Upon arrival, the guide will be waiting for you at the station exit to take you to your hotel. You will have the rest of the day free.
Day 5: Shanghai
At 9:00 am, we’ll meet in the hotel and travel to Shanghai’s historic center. Here, we’ll admire the 1960s architectural style of the traditional Shikumen buildings, known as the 'Stone Houses', which combine Western and Eastern elements.
After exploring the area, we will visit the Yu Garden, a traditional Chinese garden designed by the Ming dynasty in the 16th Century, followed by lunch at a local restaurant.
At around 1:30 pm, our tour continues along Shanghai's Old Street, where there are small stores for souvenirs. We’ll also visit the Silk Museum and enjoy a pleasant walk along the Bund, offering fantastic views of the Oriental Pearl Tower. You will have the opportunity to ascend the first and second spheres of this tower before visiting the Shanghai History Museum to delve into the city’s exciting past.
Around 5:30 pm, you will be dropped off at your hotel.
Day 6: Shanghai
After breakfast, we’ll head to the picturesque area of Zhujiajiao, a Water Town where traditional houses date back over 400 years, forming a hub for trade and transportation. You will have leisure time to wander the streets or embark on a boat tour through the canals at your own pace.
At lunchtime, we will regroup to eat at a local restaurant before returning to the hotel in Shanghai.
Day 7: Shanghai
You will have the day free to explore Shanghai, and depending on your flight departure time, we will meet to take you to the airport, concluding the tour.
Important Info
For this tour, you’ll need a flight arriving in Beijing and a flight departing from Shanghai, arriving on the day you have booked and departing seven days later, e.g., if you arrive on Monday, you’ll depart the following Sunday.
Please note that during the high-speed train journey from Beijing to Shanghai, you won't be accompanied by a guide, but assistance will be available upon your arrival in Shanghai.
