Tour Description
At the scheduled time, proceed to Liyuan Theater for a traditional dinner followed by an opera show. The dinner lasts about an hour and a half and may include soup, chicken, prawn, or meat stir-fry with vegetables and rice. Groups with more than four participants may also have Peking duck.
Post-dinner, learn about the characterization process and actor preparation before enjoying an hour-long opera show. This genre, developed in late 18th century Beijing, combines music, singing, mime, dance, and acrobatics performed in elaborate costumes.
Each opera narrates a story featuring four main characters: sheng (man), dan (young woman), jing (man with painted face), and chou (clown). These characters represent themes such as loyalty, betrayal, beauty, and evil.
The experience lasts a total of 2.5 hours. Thank you for joining!
