Byblos & Monastery of Saint Maron

Your journey begins with a pick-up from your accommodation in Beirut at 8:30 am, followed by a scenic drive towards the Monastery of Saint Maron situated in northern Lebanon. This leg of the trip lasts approximately one and a half hours, featuring picturesque views along the stunning Lebanese coastline.

Perched at around 1200 meters above sea level, this monastery, often referred to as the Cave of the Monks, is an impressive rock-carved structure. The complex encapsulates the tomb of Saint Charbel, attracting numerous pilgrims eager to pay their respects to the saint.

Next, we will proceed to the monastery of St. Joseph, the resting place of St. Rafqa, a renowned Lebanese Maronite nun beatified in 1985. To delve deeper into Lebanon's spiritual atmosphere, our journey continues to Kfifan to visit the monastery of St. Hardini, which contains the tomb of the Maronite saint Nimatullah Al-Hardini, enriching our understanding of the region's religious culture.

At 3 pm, we'll enjoy a break at a local restaurant for a delightful Lebanese meal. Once rejuvenated, we'll make our way to Byblos, one of the most picturesque locales in Lebanon.

This city boasts a history that dates back thousands of years, and during our visit, we will uncover its treasures, including the Roman amphitheatre, the temple of the obelisks, and various tombs of Phoenician kings. The significance of these ruins will come to life as we explore this important Middle Eastern site.

To cap off the day, you'll have an hour of free time to wander the charming streets of Byblos and its local craft market, where the allure of handmade items is hard to resist.

We aim to return to Beirut by around 6 pm.
