Join this walking tour of a vibrant district in Belfast, combining cultural heritage, entertainment, history, and craic! Welcome to Belfast's linen neighbourhood.

Belfast Linen Neighbourhood

At the time indicated, we'll meet outside Ulster Hall to start this guided tour. Explore this neighbourhood in the centre of Belfast.

The Belfast Linen Neighbourhood has evolved from a thriving linen industry in the 1800s to a bustling city centre today. On this guided tour, we will uncover its distinct past and present, passing iconic venues such as the Grand Opera House and other hidden gems. Our guide will share stories about people and events over 250 years of history.

You'll discover where the largest bell in the city rings out from and learn about its brief silence. Also, Led Zeppelin performed ‘Stairway to Heaven’ live in Belfast for the first time in 1971.

The tour will cover the significance of the linen industry in the city's past. You'll see locations where linen workers had their weekly baths before home modernisation. Currently, the area is a lively hospitality zone with many popular venues, pubs, restaurants, and bars.

Belfast features remarkable street art decorating its buildings. We will admire impressive architecture, famous entertainment venues, quaint bars, and quirky shops as we explore.

After 2 hours, we will conclude this walking tour of Belfast's Linen Neighbourhood at Flaxx, a trendy area in the city centre. Until next time!
