Belgrade Walking Tour
We'll meet at the indicated time across the street from the House of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia. This building, completed in 1936, is notable for its neo-Baroque and neo-Renaissance styles. The construction was interrupted by the Balkan Wars, World War I, and the Great Depression. Nearby, we will see the Monument to Nikola Pašic, a significant political figure in the Balkans.
The guided tour continues to Terazije Square, stopping at the iconic Moskva Hotel, which has hosted many renowned guests.
Next, we will visit Republic Square to admire the façades of the National Theatre and the National Museum. We will then stroll along Knez Mihailo, a vibrant shopping street, until we reach the Cathedral Church of St Michael the Archangel, an important place of worship.
Close to the cathedral is one of Belgrade's oldest traditional taverns, known as "?". We will explore the origin of its name.
The tour will then proceed to Belgrade Fortress, a fortified citadel from the 3rd century BC located at the confluence of the Sava and Danube Rivers. Our guide will share legendary stories as we explore the ancient city walls.
After 2.5 hours, the tour concludes in Kalemegdan Park, the largest park and one of the significant historical monuments in Belgrade.
