Nature, culture, and history: discover the wonders of northern Serbia on this day trip to Fruška Gora and the towns of Sremski Karlovci and Novi Sad from Belgrade.
Tour Details
In the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel in Belgrade and depart for the Vojvodina region of northern Serbia, traveling through the Pannonian plain.
After about an hour, the first stop will be Fruška Gora, a national park known for its mountains. We will visit the Krušedol Monastery, a medieval Orthodox monastery associated with the Brankovi? family.
Next, we will travel to Sremski Karlovci, a town recognized for its cultural and spiritual significance for over two centuries. We will explore its historic centre, including the Orthodox Cathedral of St. Nicholas and the Patriarchate Court.
Sremski Karlovci is also famous for winemaking, and we will visit a wine shop for a tasting of the local wine, Bermet.
Afterward, we will head to Novi Sad, Serbia's second largest city located on the Danube. We will visit the Petrovaradin Fortress, an example of 18th-century military architecture, often referred to as the "Gibraltar of the Danube".
We will explore the historic centre of Novi Sad to understand its cultural diversity, noting that it was named European Capital of Culture for 2021.
After lunch in Novi Sad (not included), we will return to the meeting point in Belgrade to conclude this 8-hour excursion.
