Join us on this walking tour and learn about the most controversial era of Serbia, which stretches from World War II to the present. We'll share conspiracy theories and urban legends as we stroll through the streets of Belgrade and see how Communist Yugoslavia rose and fell.
Red Belgrade Communist Tour
At the indicated time, we'll meet at Nikola Paši? Square. After introductions, we'll begin our walking tour through Belgrade. Our first stop will be Republic Square, the birthplace of Communist Yugoslavia, where Josip Broz Tito gave his revolutionary speech before proclaiming the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in 1945. We will admire the mix of architectural styles, including socialist edifices and monuments from the Yugoslavian Kingdom alongside newer buildings.
Next, we will go to Terazije Square, sharing stories of notable holidays and figures at Hotel Moskva. At the former square of Marx and Engels, we will view the Trade Union Hall and visit Pioneer's Park.
To travel back in time, we will catch a trolley, the main transport mode for many Belgrade residents. The trolley will take us to Dedinje, an elite district known for its embassies and the Museum of Yugoslavia, where we will learn about Josip Broz Tito, revered as a national hero.
Finally, we will visit the mausoleum or House of Flowers, the burial site of Tito's remains, reviewing his career and the final days of the Republic of Yugoslavia.
We will conclude the tour after 4 hours of historical storytelling and sightseeing in Serbia's capital.
