Galapagos Frontier Reserve + Lava Tunnels Tour

Discover the giant tortoises on Santa Cruz Island during this tour of the Galapagos Frontier Reserve, including a visit to lava tunnels.

Description

At the scheduled time, we will meet at Galapagos Frontier to begin this tour of the natural reserve on the Island of Santa Cruz.

We will start with a delicious orange juice or cup of coffee at Galapagos Frontier before heading out to admire the giant tortoises.

The tour will take us through paths surrounded by fruit trees and into the forest, where we will encounter the famous tortoises and observe the pools where they keep cool.

We will also spot several species of endemic birds, including canaries and various types of Darwin's finches.

After exiting the forest, we will visit two lava tunnels featuring remarkable stalactite and stalagmite formations. An explanation of their formation will be provided, along with an opportunity to see a barn owl that resides in the cave.

After a total of 3 hours of exploration, we will return to the starting point to conclude the tour.
