Admission to Belmonte Castle



Perched on the San Cristobal hill, Belmonte Castle stands as one of Cuenca's most significant fortresses.



This admission allows you to access an English audio guide via your mobile device. This guide will lead you through the key areas of this striking 15th-century structure.



With the help of the audio guide, you will gain insights into the historical significance of Belmonte Castle. The fortress experienced a revival in the 19th century thanks to the extensive renovations initiated by Eugénie de Montijo, the castle's heir and spouse of Napoleon III of France.



Your ticket grants access to both the Patio de Armas and the surrounding walls, where the parapet and towers are prominent features. Additionally, you’ll have the chance to scale one of the watchtowers for breathtaking panoramic vistas.

The visiting hours for Belmonte Castle are established as follows:

From January 7 to March 1: Tuesday to Friday from 11 am to 2 pm; Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 2 pm and from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm.From March 3 to April 19: Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 7 pm.From April 21 to September 20: Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 2 pm and from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Closed on Mondays, except in August, when the castle is accessible daily.From September 22 to January 6: Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 2 pm and from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm.



The last admission is accepted 45 minutes prior to closing time.

Exceptional Hours

Easter Week: Open from 10 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 8 pm.July 4: Open solely from 10 am to 2 pm.On December 24, the castle will be accessible from 10 am to 2 pm, and will remain closed from December 25 to January 1.
