Aromas, flavors, beliefs, colors, culture, art, and urbanism... These elements merge harmoniously on this exploration of the Central Market and the New Market in Belo Horizonte. Prepare for a unique experience!
Description
We'll gather at the designated time at the Central Market, situated in the heart of the city. This location is truly one of the most vibrant in Belo Horizonte!
Covering an area of 14,000 square meters, this market features over 400 stalls and ranks as the third largest market globally, following Barcelona's La Boquería and London's Borough Market—making it an exceptional destination to explore!
As we enter, we'll kick off our adventure with a welcoming coffee, then we'll start our 2-hour stroll through the lively aisles filled with vibrant stalls. Here, you will encounter a variety of local products, including handicrafts, spices, meats, and traditional dishes. We're bound to pass by renowned bars and restaurants, tempting you to pick up a special treat!
Throughout our journey in the market, we'll pause to engage with the vendors and gain insight into their daily routines. Of course, we’ll seize the opportunity to sample some delightful cheese, wine, and authentic Belo Horizonte cachaça.
Next, we'll proceed to the Belo Horizonte New Market, referred to affectionately as the Old New Market. Conveniently located in the city center, it serves as a perfect extension of our Central Market visit. Here, we'll discover unique shops showcasing artistic items rich in mystique.
Our exploration continues as we visit the art gallery and indulge in a delicious Pastel de Angú, paired with either a lemonade or a caipirinha. Cheers to that!
After a delightful 4 hours, we'll make our way back to the meeting point and bid farewell.
