Day Trip to Castellón de la Plana
Our journey begins at 9:25 am as we gather outside the Benicassim Tourist Information Center. Here, we will board a minibus and, within a brief 15 minutes, arrive at our first stop: Castellón de la Plana.
Upon arrival at the Grao de Castellón, we will explore the fishing port, delving into the nautical heritage of Castellón de la Plana. While we stroll along the marina, we'll discuss the transformation of this area over recent years.
The next stop is the renowned Museum of Fine Arts, recognized for its unique architectural design which has garnered several accolades. Inside its exhibition spaces, we will encounter various sculptures, traditional Valencian ceramics, and notable artworks from Zurbarán's workshop.
Following our museum visit, we will embark on a guided tour of the historic quarter of Castellón de la Plana. Highlights will include the Mercado de los Lunes (Monday Market), the co-cathedral of Santa María la Mayor, the iconic bell tower El Fadrí, the theatre, the Central Market, and more.
We will conclude our tour at 1:30 pm, returning to Benicassim.
