Peniscola Tour

At 9 am we'll meet at the Tourist Office in Benicassim and travel by minibus to Peniscola, a journey of 40 minutes.

Upon arrival, we will start a guided walking tour through the historic center, beginning at the old artillery park to admire the facade of Peniscola Castle, built by the Knights Templar in the late thirteenth century.

Next, we will explore the castle's interior and discuss its most notable resident, Pedro Martínez de Luna, Pope Luna, including his exile in Peniscola and his status as considered antipope by many in the Catholic Church.

We will visit the 'bufador', a natural rock opening leading to the sea, which is a local attraction. We will then continue through the streets of Peniscola, viewing sites like the Casa de las Conchas and the church of Santa Maria. Our final stop will be the Sea Museum, which highlights the town's seafaring history.

We will return to the meeting point in Benicassim by 2 pm, concluding the tour.
