If you'd like to discover all the secrets behind olive oil and visit two charming villages, then our Traiguera & Cervera del Maestre Guided Tour is perfect for you! You'll see vast olive groves and visit historical monuments declared Assets of Cultural Interest.

Traiguera & Cervera del Maestre Guided Tour

At 8:45 am, we'll meet at the Benicassim Tourist Office and take a bus to Traiguera. Here, we'll visit an estate of thousand-year-old olive groves and learn about the production of the Valencia region's 'liquid gold.'

We'll walk through the orchards to see the Sinfo Olive Tree, one of the oldest in Europe, recognized as the best monumental olive tree in 2018. Attendees will learn about the cultivation of these trees and participate in an olive oil tasting with typical cold meats.

After the tasting, we’ll continue by bus to Cervera del Maestre. At the Oil Mill Visitor Centre, we will explore local traditions related to olive groves. Following this, we will tour Cervera del Maestre for about 1 hour, known for its medieval castle, a fortress of Arab origin that defended against Christian troops during Spain's Reconquest.

The final stop will be back in Traiguera at the Royal Sanctuary Virgen Fuente de la Salud, a site declared an Asset of Cultural Interest and unique in the province for its 'Royal' classification. We will discuss its origins linked to Charles V while examining various elements of the complex, including the hostelry, priests' house, kitchens, and chapel.

The day trip will end between 2:15 pm and 2:45 pm back at the meeting point.
