On this tour of Italian immigration, participants will explore the cultural heritage of Italian migrants in Rio Grande do Sul and the history of their descendants.
Bento Gonçalves Italian Immigration Tour
The tour begins with a pickup at 8:30 am from your hotel in Bento Gonçalves. Participants will learn about the culture and traditions of Italian immigrants by walking along the historic Caminho de Pedra.
Bento Gonçalves serves as an open-air museum that preserves the traditions of Italian immigrants. The first stop is the Casa do Tomate, a typical settler's house where participants will learn about tomato products.
The tour then visits Casa das Massas e do Artesanato, a handmade pasta factory producing tortellini, capelettis, and biscuits.
Participants will also discover the impact of Italians on the Brazilian textile industry by visiting the Casa de Tecelagem and Malhas G'Dom shops. Following this, the tour includes visits to Michele Carraro, Salvatti, and Aurora wine estates for a wine tasting.
Lunch will feature Italian dishes such as pasta, risotto, chicken, or polenta, and the tour concludes with a return to the hotel by 4:30 pm.
