Caminhos de Pedra Tour
At 9 am, we will meet at Rua Duque de Caxias in Bento Gonçalves to start the tour of the Caminhos de Pedra. We will discover the origins of the name.
This route serves as an open-air museum depicting the history of Italian immigration in Brazil, providing insights into how Italian culture integrated with local traditions, particularly in cattle raising and vineyard cultivation.
We will visit the Parque da Ovelha to learn about sheep care, followed by a stop at Cantina Strapazzon, established in the late 19th century, where we will explore regional winemaking traditions. This location has also served as a backdrop for various films, including the 1995 Brazilian film O Quatrilho.
The tour will conclude with a view of Casa Bertarello, a stone house that once provided lodging for the earliest immigrants to the area.
We will return to Bento Gonçalves by bus, arriving back at approximately 1 pm.
