Maria Fumaça Train + Vineyard Harvest Tour
We'll gather at the train station at 9 am to kick off this immersive adventure in the heart of Bento Gonçalves, aptly dubbed the capital of Brazilian wine.
The adventure begins with a scenic ride on the Maria Fumaça train, affectionately known as the wine train. This historic journey will take us through the picturesque landscapes of Serra Gaucha, where we will pass charming villages such as Carlos Barbosa and Garibaldi. Along the way, we’ll savor the exquisite wines, champagnes, and grape juices produced in the area, all accompanied by delightful live musical performances at various stops.
Our next stop is the Epopeia Italiana theme park, where we'll delve into the fascinating history and traditions brought by Italian immigrants. Following this insightful visit, we will make our way to a family-run vineyard, where a delightful surprise awaits!
Here, we will actively participate in the grape harvest, plucking fresh grapes right from the vines. Next, we'll engage in the traditional practice of treading grapes, a juice extraction method steeped in Italian winemaking traditions. This experience feels like a true celebration, as local residents cheer on the grape treaders.
Following our memorable time at the vineyard, we'll indulge in a traditional Italian appetizer, known as merendim, while enjoying more lively traditional music.
The journey concludes as we make our way back to Bento Gonçalves station, with an anticipated arrival around 4 pm.
