We'll pick you up at your hotel in Bento Gonçalves at the designated time to start this tour of the Rota dos Espumantes, where we'll learn about the history of champagne in Brazil.

It all started when the Italian immigrant Manoel Peterlongo decided to make his favourite drink from when he lived in Europe. It was 1913 and Peterlongo followed the natural fermentation process already used by the French Dom Pérignon to make the first Brazilian sparkling wine or 'espumante'.

The Rota dos Espumantes encompasses 17 wine estates, of which we'll visit three of the most famous. We'll start with the Domno winery, where you'll taste their sparkling wines that have conquered the Brazilian market and international juries.

Then we'll go to Vinícola Peterlongo, pioneer of sparkling wines in Brazil and the only one allowed to use the word 'champagne' on its labels. You'll see the castle-like architecture of its main building and visit its 10,000 square metre underground cellar for a tasting, including a visit to the Devorata Trufas chocolate shop.

Our last stop will be at Vinícola Garibaldi, a cooperative with over 90 years of history and more than 430 families dedicated to grape production. Here we'll learn about all the sparkling wines produced by the estate before returning to Bento Gonçalves.

We'll finish the tour at your hotel after 4 hours.
