Rota dos Espumantes Tour

We'll pick you up at your hotel in Bento Gonçalves at 1 pm to start this tour of the Rota dos Espumantes, where we'll learn about the history of champagne in Brazil.

It all started when the Italian immigrant Manoel Peterlongo decided to make his favourite drink from when he lived in Europe in 1913, following the natural fermentation process used by the French Dom Pérignon to create the first Brazilian sparkling wine or 'espumante' .

The Rota dos Espumantes encompasses 17 wine estates, among which we'll visit three. We'll start with the Domno winery, tasting sparkling wines recognized in the Brazilian market and by international juries.

Next, we'll go to Vinícola Peterlongo, a pioneer in Brazilian sparkling wines, renowned for its castle-like architecture and a 10,000 square metre underground cellar. Tasting will be included. Chin Chin!

Our last stop will be at Vinícola Garibaldi, a cooperative with over 90 years of history and more than 430 grape-producing families. We will explore all the sparkling wines produced here before returning to Bento Gonçalves.

We'll finish the tour at your hotel at 5 pm.
