On this tour from Bergen, experience the Flåm train and a cruise through the Nærøyfjord, showcasing remarkable landscapes.
Norwegian Fjords: Flåm Train + Nærøy Boat Ride
We will meet at 16 Strandkaienn in Bergen Harbour at the specified time to begin a tour of the Norwegian fjords in one day. The journey involves travels through narrow valleys, emerald waters, and steep hillsides in a World Heritage Site.
Initially, we will walk to Bergen Train Station to take the train to Vossevangen, followed by a bus ride to Gudvangen, known as the end of the Nærøy fjord—a designated Viking heritage village.
In Gudvangen, a 30-minute guided tour of the Viking village of Njardarheimr will provide insights into the Viking Age in Norway.
Next, enjoy a 2-hour cruise on the Nærøyfjorden, one of the narrowest fjords in the world, surrounded by mountains over 1,700 meters (5,577 feet) high and cascading waterfalls.
We will dock in Flåm and allow between 30 and 55 minutes of free time for lunch and exploration, including the Railway Museum.
The tour continues with the Flåm train, recognized as one of the most impressive railway lines in the world, featuring a 50-minute journey with a brief stop at the Kjosfossen waterfall.
Our trip concludes at Myrdal Station with a return train to Bergen, completing a 10-and-a-half-hour excursion at the Bergen railroad station.
Itinerary Adjustments
In summer, the bus from Vossevangen to Gudvangen will also travel along the Stalheimskleiva, noted for its incredible views of the Nærøy Valley.
