Norwegian Fjords: Flåm Train + Nærøy Boat Ride

We will meet at Strandkaien Terminal in Bergen Harbour to begin a tour of the Norwegian fjords. The journey includes a walk to Bergen Train Station to catch the train to Vossevangen. From there, we will proceed by bus to Gudvangen, located at the end of the Nærøyfjord.

In Gudvangen, a 30-minute guided tour of the Viking village Njardarheimr will provide insights into the Viking Age in Norway. Following this, we will enjoy a 2-hour cruise on the Nærøyfjorden, known for its steep mountains and waterfalls, and visit charming villages along the route.

We will dock in Flåm for 30-55 minutes of free time for lunch and exploration. Options include visiting the Railway Museum and walking along the harbor. The next phase involves a 50-minute journey on the Flåm train, boasting views of the Norwegian mountains and a brief stop at the Kjosfossen waterfall for photos.

The excursion will end at Myrdal Station, where we will take a regular train back to Bergen. The entire tour lasts approximately 10.5 hours, concluding at Bergen railroad station.

Itinerary Adjustments

In the summer, the bus from Vossevangen to Gudvangen will travel via Stalheimskleiva, offering stunning views of the Nærøy Valley.
