One of the most interactive and original exhibitions in Berlin awaits! Visiting the DDR Museum, you'll discover what life was like in the former East Germany in an original and interesting way.

Why visit the DDR Museum?

The DDR Museum is located near the Berlin Cathedral and reviews the history of the German Democratic Republic interactively. This museum offers a 'hands-on experience of history,' inviting visitors to open drawers and cabinets and interact with historical objects to understand the culture and everyday life during the time of the German Democratic Republic.

Visitors will journey back to the Cold War era, reflecting on the Berlin Wall's role in isolating the GDR from Western Europe. The exhibition covers the activities of the Ministry for State Security (Stasi) and its connections with the Soviet KGB. Many interesting facts can be learned while exploring the various rooms of the museum.

Opening hours

The DDR Museum is open Monday to Sunday from 9 am to 9 pm, except on December 24 and 31, when it closes at 4 pm.
