San Juan de Gaztelugatxe Boat Trip

At the time you select, we'll convene at the Puerto Viejo in Bermeo. Here, we'll board the vessel that will whisk us away toward San Juan de Gaztelugatxe.

As we navigate the waters, be prepared to witness the majestic cliffs of Cape Machichaco, topped with a lighthouse that stands 122 meters above the ocean. Our route will also take us past Punta Ermuak and Aquech rock, a headland spanning three hectares and a habitat for cormorants.

Gradually, we will approach San Juan de Gaztelugatxe. This striking islet is steeped in legends, tales of pirates, and a sense of mystique, featuring a stone bridge that leads to a staircase with 241 steps.

From our boat, you’ll have the opportunity to gaze upon a 10th-century hermitage, which has been reconstructed following previous pirate raids and fire incidents. This location holds great significance for fans of the fantasy genre, as it served as the backdrop for Dragonstone.

After taking in the sights of this extraordinary destination along the rugged Basque coastline from the water, we will head back to Bermeo, aiming to return to port approximately one hour after our departure.
