Rappelling at Sima del Cielo

We'll pick you up at 7 am at your hotel in Tuxtla Gutiérrez and drive to the town of San Fernando, located just half an hour away.

Once we arrive, we'll have breakfast which includes assorted sandwiches, yogurt, fruit, orange juice, and coffee. Then, the instructor will give us some simple safety guidelines and we'll get equipped with helmets, harnesses, and other necessary materials.

Afterward, we'll set off on a 1-hour hike to the Sima del Cielo, a natural hole at a height of 35 meters (115 feet) with a diameter of 30 meters (98 feet) and a base width of no less than 100 meters (328 feet).

Our Sima del Cielo rappelling activity begins as we descend through this opening while learning about the geology of the cave. This is a unique place in the state of Chiapas.

Following the rappelling, we'll walk an hour back to San Fernando. From there, we will return to your hotel in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, arriving at 4 pm.
