At the specified time, we'll meet at the Berthier-sur-Mer Marina. There, we'll board a boat and sail on the St-Lawrence River towards Grosse-île.

Upon arrival, you'll meet your Parc Canada certified tour guide. Grosse Island served as a former quarantine station for immigrants arriving from Ireland, where they were disinfected before entering the mainland.

Tragically, over 7,000 immigrants lost their lives on this island due to poor sanitary conditions. As you explore the island, you can visit the church, lighthouse, cemetery, and the lazaretto, a location associated with the disinfection process.

After uncovering the dark history of Grosse Island, we'll sail back to the meeting point, concluding the day trip.
