Activity Details
The guided tour of Biarritz begins at the entrance of the Casino Barrière, where participants will enjoy a panoramic view of the Atlantic. The tour will highlight Biarritz as one of the most exclusive coastal towns in Aquitaine, featuring anecdotes from the Belle Époque (1871-1914) and the Roaring Twenties.
Participants will visit the Great Beach of Biarritz, popular among surfers, and walk along the promenade, exploring the town's pirate-related history from the 17th and 18th centuries.
The tour includes a stop at the Hôtel du Palais, where the history of Eugénie de Montijo and Napoleon III will be discussed, followed by a visit to the church of Saint Eugénie, dedicated to the emperor's wife.
Continuing along the coast, the tour will pass the Biarritz Aquarium before reaching the Rocher de la Vierge, a rock formation with a carving of a virgin. Access to the islet is via a footbridge over the Atlantic.
